At Home Facials With PMD Microdermabrasion

Good Morning loves! Taking care of my skin is super important to me, from what I eat and drink to what I put on it and how I treat it. One of my favorite things to do, is to give myself an at home facial when Zion is napping. For the women with kiddos, nap time is the perfect time to give yourself a treatment in between laundry loads and getting ready for the day.  I believe it’s super important to do something for myself because it is so easy to get lost in spit up, diapers, laundry and giggles. While I wouldn’t trade that for the whole world, making sure I do the little things like taking care of my body or getting my nails done, makes this mama feel refreshed, put together and taken care of even if I’m in work out clothes all day. When it comes to my facials, I love to use a gentle face cleanser to start to clean my skin and then use my home microdermabrasion tool. This tool is like going to get a professional facial, without the cost or time! It is now my favorite little “get away” right at home. Now I just need to find someone to come to my hair at home and I’m set ya? ;)-

This Personal Microderm by PMD combines the power of Patented Spinning Disc Technology with a Perfectly Calibrated Vacuum Suction to brighten, smooth, and even skin tone and texture. The Personal Microderm reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, and enlarged pores. After a treatment, makeup goes on smoother and skin care penetrates significantly deeper – 20X deeper.

I finish up with a cooling toner and a glycolic cream or a nourishing vitamin C cream.  For more info on this tool check out PMD.

Harvest Moon

This Harvest Moon is beautiful. There is something about the moon I have always been so drawn to.  Gazing at it brings me so much peace and brings me instant perspective.  The moon is powerful, with its energy, power manipulating the water in the Earth and lighting the nights being the sun of the night. I love a full moon which symbolizes completeness before the new moon. Taking time to reflect the summer in the fullness of the harvest moon, my son came in the beginning of summer, the warm summer nights, the travel, the love, the snuggles of my sweet new babe, as I reflect, I can only be in overflow of thankfulness to God. He is so good. Good to all his children. What are you thankful for at the closing of this season as we welcome the Harvest season? How were your summer months? Taking time to reflect and lift of thanksgiving prepares you to go into the next season ready for change, newness and feeling content.

Beach Days

There is nothing I look more forward to then the weekends with my guys.  This summer we hit the beach everyday we could. Zion would sleep most of the time because he was so new earth side, but as he is getting older day by day, the beach has become more curious to him. He loves the sound of the waves (who doesn’t) and likes to watch the people and is so interested in everything. I can’t wait until we can get him in the water or on a board! If he likes the beach as much as bath time, I think we will have a fish on our hands, just like his Dad. Honestly, I thought I would be SO stressed doing anything with my baby, but when he was born something in me (call it grace) has been so courageous in doing everything I would normally do with my baby and saying no to fear. And it’s been a BLAST. The memories we make are priceless and life has been so sweet and fun. Yes, it takes determination and learning to go with the flow, patience and just letting things not get to you, but if you can practice these, the obstacles fade in the distance and there are so many sweet moments.  Yes, he cries, yes, he explodes poop and spits up everywhere like every other baby, but we just put it in our heads that this is our new normal, so when we do life, it doesn’t get to us. It is just life! I think that is what has really helped us just adjust to our new obsession and family member. Hey, sometimes I cry too…thank God I’ve grown out of pooping my pants though…that would just add a whole nother dimension. ;)- Just know mama, for you that when something fun presents itself and you think “No, I can’t, my baby won’t do well”, I encourage you to go for it. People get it, people get crying babies, poops, taking your time, etc. don’t let fear or anxiety steal your fun or the precious memories you can make. <3 I’m cheering you on!

What we do:

We are totally those people with the wagon packed to the brim. HA. We pack our lunch, Zion’s things, his diaper bag that turns into a bassinet to lay in, boards, a chair, a big blanket, towels, water, etc. We pack to be prepared and make it as comfy as possible. Why not? For shade we use a tent umbrella and a SPF hat and if I know he will be in the sun at times (legs mostly), I will use Goddess Garden baby SPF.  It’s organic and super safe for the tiniest of little ones. I don’t reccomend using any SPF on tiny babies all the time, but for those rare days, as long as it is a safe, organic, non toxic one, it’s cool to use.

What I wore:

Hat: Forever 21 (guys)

Bathing suit: Forever 21

Glasses: Buffalo Exchange

Spencer’s Shorts: Cotton On

Zion’s “Surf Dude” Outfit: Carter’s

Gypsy Sun

As the Indian Summer continues, looks of transition are what I’m all about during these warm SoCal Falls.

Pairing black from top to bottom added some uniformity with this loose, mustard dress.  I wanted to make statements on the accessories, so I chose a choker and a statement necklace, a fun braided bralette and finished the look off with a bold sandal heel. <3 Plus, whole outfit cost less than $100!

What I Wore:

Dress: Forever 21

Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Necklaces: Forever 21

Bracelet: Bourbon and Bowties

Bralette: Forever 21

Underneath: Biker shorts: Forever 21

Summer/Fall Transition

Don’t get me wrong, I love seasons, but every year I find it hard at the close of summer. It’s like I love fall when it’s here, but I want an endless summer.  Maybe we will just end up moving to the tropics or something 😉 With the transition into fall, especially in CA, it’s not really sweaters just yet, so darker colors in summer styles, seem to transition into the season with the hot days still upon us.  I LOVE this romper and these shoes will be a go to of mine for the fall. This fall is all about more statement necklaces, continuing with the lace up trend in shoes and some fun prints along with classic lines and simple pieces. The 90’s trend will also continue through fall with high waist, plain tee’s, classic 90’s brands (brands are back), and baseball hats for days.

What I Wore:

Romper: Forever 21

Sunnies: Asos

Necklace: Forever 21

Shoes: Charlotte Russe
